Shit game at 60fps is still a shit game.
@morganfell
If you're going to quote me at least engage in the conversation. I'm not sour grapes about anything. I literally do not own a PS4. I also don't think Sony "owes me" a PS5 update. BUT when I go to pick up my PS5 I will only be getting a handful of titles. Ghost being one of those is contingent on it offering something that takes advantage of the $500+ system I just got. Otherwise I'll get it on deep discount during a dry spell. Why is th...
@flakes
You're talking irrelevant nonsense.
They would never do that. It would only hurt current software sales.
@ApocalypseShadow
What a stupid answer. Both Samsung TVs and modern cars get software updated. You are acting like people want a PS5 for free.
What about someone like me? I did not buy Ghost and I am buying a PS5. It having a PS5 patch would make it a Day 1 buy, otherwise I'll be busy playing PS5 games and will get to Ghost someday...maybe.
Yeah that direct feed gameplay demo they showed really brought it home about just how much like a PS4 game it looks.
What's that? We haven't actually seen the game running besides a few 2 second clips? Whatdayaknow...
That's literally how it works.... I have a mid-range PC. It varies game to game, but for the most part I can get 4K30 or 1440p @ 60 or above.
I'm going to assume you have an Xbox 1X. Does Gears 5 Multiplayer look as good as the Singleplayer campaign? Does Forza Horizon 4 look as good in 60fps mode as it does in 30fps mode? I think you know the answers.
@MoronMonkey Because resolution barely effing matters. There are X1 games that are 720p. Do they look like 360 games? I can play Vice City at 8K. Does that make it a good looking game?
You don't need to guess or make up stuff whole cloth. 4K60 IS the performance mode. So there will also be a 4K30 visual mode.
No that's not what they mean. There will be a Performance Mode that is 4K60 (maybe variable, but hopefully locked) and there will be a 4K30 Visual Mode.
Ugh...here we go again. Resolution is not the end all be all of visuals. Let's take Vice City. On PC I can run that game at 4K, hell even 8K. Do you think that game's visuals are going to hold up to 2020? Of course not!
Both versions can run at 4K and one can still look significantly better than the other. Things like Shadow quality, Ray Tracing, Texture resolution, AO, AF, etc. all impact the visual fidelity of what you see on your screen.
Nobody is running with anything. You have to be a complete luddite to not understand that besides visuals games are only so scaleable.
That's not how it works. It will take full of advantage of Series X, but only in terms of visuals.
Nah, fam, it ain't. Fact is that hardware is still a big part of the business. Once you get your system into someone's home $0.30 of every dollar goes to you. It's not the only way to do business. See MS, for instance, putting their games on Windows now. Their problem is that nobody wants to use Windows Store and they lose 30% if going through Steam. Hence, xCloud.
I mean... if you get a PS4 this Christmas, then you have access to Valhalla, Legion, New COD, Sports Games, CP2077 oh and 7 years worth of PS4 games at low prices with a ton of exclusives.
@Aizen
TVM is a thing. Why should videogames be immune? That being said, if it becomes 70 it won't be because of me. RDR2 is the last time I paid full price for a AAA game, and I have zero regrets.
Or just get a better job.
I hate this argument. Obviously buy or don't buy whatever you want, but I speak for a lot of people when I say quality content > abundance of content.
And you are wrong about there being NO REASON to pay full price for SP games. Maybe I want to avoid spoilers. Maybe I want to be part of the conversation. Maybe it's a Friday night and that's what I feel like doing. If paying $70 or even $60 is unachievable for you then you should probably spend your free time ...
Things should be kept in perspective. N4G or ANY online gaming forum is a tiny, TINY minority of gamers. So gamers are the market, N4G gamers are a tiny subset that makes no difference either way.
Good, leave the 8th gen behind. But I don't understand what that means for the timeline. Phil said Turn 10 is in early development. So what have they been doing since 2017? Also Fable was rumored to enter development years ago and we still won't be seeing it for 18+ months?
